While all attention today is on the Iranian War, let us not forget the 11 Million Cubans stranded without fuel, or the 28 Million Venezuelans whose memories are still fresh with yesterday’s violation of sovereignty, abduction of its head of state, and the seizure of its oil industry and territory. And also, let us not forget what ICE has done to our people here in this country, in the belly of the beast, and what they continue to do, and plot to do.
Like the Iranians, and all Muslims across al-Sham, and the Greater Middle East, we Latin Americans are in a struggle for our rights to survive, for our homelands, and for good government.
Clearly, and by their own boastful admission, the US has always maintained that it was God-Given master of the whole of the Americas. Pan-Americanism is articulated in the Monroe Doctrine, which has recently been revived in outright imperial and colonial language. As the seal of the us marines shows, the military has always been intended for a hemispheric takeover.
As a Muslim, I stand with Iran and with all Muslims across the region, except the Wahabis. We may differ on details of theology, whether Sunni v/ Shia, one sect or school of jurisprudence v. another, but in the end, we are all brothers and sisters, elders and children of one Ummah.
As a Latin-American, specifically a Chicano, I also stand in solidarity with all 600+ Million of my brothers and sisters, elders and children, who share a common DNA, a common history, common cultures, and who trace our roots back to this land, going back thousands of years.
