I used to wonder at how humankind could consist of different races, and how 8 billion people could have derived from one….and then 2. I found the answers in the Quran and in the message of the Prophet Mohammed, peace and blessings be upon him.<\/p>\n
We are taught that the first man, Prophet Adam, peace be upon him, was formed by Allah from a mixture of al of Earths different soils–different textures and colors, mixed with the original and pure water. That soil represents the different races of humanity, and laid the precedent in the human DNA for the phenotypical variations that emerged over the course of time.<\/p>\n
We are also taught that the first offspring of Prophet Adam and of Lady Eve were birthed in pairs, as male and female sets of twins. Twins who were born together could not intermarry. In the beginning, it was forbidden, but brothers and sisters of different sets of twins could, which allowed for the multiplication of the population by God’s will, without incest as it was defined then. This occurred until the second prophet, one of Adam’s sons, the prophet Idris, peace be upon him, who revealed the command of Allah that siblings could no longer intermarry. At that point it became forbidden. But this history provides a rational answer to the original question posed.<\/p>\n
