In the times of the Prophet Jesus, peace be upon him, there were professional wailers. These were hired hands who were paid to make public displays out of tragedies, in order to incite reactions out of the masses.<\/p>\n
Today’s mass media, and its pundits, are like these wailers. Their entire purpose is to incite emotional reactions from the masses, through highly sensationalized and partisan politics, using inflammatory language, and all for a profit. They stoke the flames of human passion, and play upon the most debase of human emotions. These are hypocrites who are quick to point the finger, and slow to look in the mirror, into the reflection of their own type. Rarely do they apply the same standards to self and to their side.<\/p>\n
What is needed today are principled personalities (and journalism) that is consistent with humanity and justice, with what we have always been told are God Given Rights, and virtues such as compassion and empathy, respect and dignity for self and neighbor, and the pursuit of TRUTH, regardless of who might be implicated to the contrary during the process of (collective) discovery. Otherwise, it\u2019s all partisanship, and a race to the bottom of the scale of ethics and morality, a choice of hypocrisy and partisanship above integrity and principle.<\/p>\n
