In fact, unless you are in a state like Tennessee with no income or state tax, and that is the only state with neither, that $1 has less than 35% purchasing power. And that&#8217;s not even factoring in inflation and the reduction of the real value of the dollar over time, which is absolute.<\/p>\n<p>And what do we get in return? A mighty war machine used not principally for self-defense, but for imperialism abroad. We get ICE in our streets. We are monitored by a surveillance state with unlimited technological capacity. We get crumbling infrastructure with all public projects taking 10x longer and costing 10x to the taxpayer of the exact same undertaking in the private sector. We get poison in our food and water. We are lied to time and time again about how good it is, how good it will get, how good it has been.<\/p>\n<p>Is this the pinnacle of progress?
