These kids learn the lyrics of Disney cartoons and contemporary music at the earliest of ages, demonstrating their brilliance and malleability. As they get older, they. can get to level 50 on 10 different video games, having invested hundreds if not thousands of hours on a worthless pursuit that does absolutely nothing to add value to their lives, or to society at large. Yet they can barely read at an elementary level, are unable to compute without a calculator, and are unable to read and write cursive. They often lack knowledge or interest in acquiring knowledge through study, unable to express themselves through either spoken or written word. And are deluded by the fantasies of Hollywood and their gaming consoles. Unless raised properly, with discipline and a focus on value-adding activities, these kids do not stand a chance. Not in a culture that glorifies and promotes carnal desires and idle pursuits, which encourages laziness and a shallow and distorted perception of reality, and that reinforces ignorance while discouraging critical and logical thought. We must educate our children, instill good values and lead by example, protect them from what is harmful, and guide them in the way of responsibility and proper, high-level living.
