About Me

Erica Mantel, LCSW

With years of experience working with adolescents and young adults in various settings, I am committed to creating a judgment-free space where clients feel safe, heard, and understood. I believe healing begins when individuals feel comfortable expressing themselves openly and exploring their thoughts, emotions, and life experiences.

I provide a supportive environment where clients can process difficult emotions and learn to approach life’s circumstances from a place of empowerment rather than defeat. Together, we work toward realistic, attainable goals that reflect each person’s individual needs while supporting self-worth and meaningful participation in life.

As a mother of a child living with a chronic disease, I understand the physical and emotional demands of managing health while continuing to participate in the activities and experiences that make life meaningful. I recognize how overwhelming it can feel to manage responsibilities while feeling physically or emotionally unwell, experience isolation or misunderstanding from peers, and communicate personal needs to friends, teachers, coworkers, or employers.

I also understand the importance of developing healthy self-esteem and a compassionate relationship with one’s body. Through my experience working with individuals affected by eating disorders and body-image concerns, I help clients recognize that their inherent value extends far beyond their appearance. My goal is to help every individual understand that they remain important and worthy even on days when they struggle with their body and discover ways to care for themselves from a place of self-respect, acceptance, and self-worth.

Any Questions?

What is therapy and how can it help me?

Therapy provides a safe, supportive space to explore your thoughts, emotions, and life experiences without judgment. Together, we can identify challenges, develop healthy coping strategies, and work toward goals that help you feel more confident, empowered, and connected to the life you want to create.

Every person’s experience with therapy is different. Some individuals begin noticing changes within a few sessions, while others benefit from longer-term support. The timeline depends on your needs, goals, and circumstances. We will regularly discuss your progress and adjust our approach as needed.
I provide individual therapy for pre-adolescents, adolescents, and young adults, typically between the ages of 10 and 35. My areas of focus include anxiety, chronic illness, eating disorders, ARFID, body-image concerns, and the transition from high school to post-graduation. I am also trained in EMDR processing.

Therapy may be helpful if you feel overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, misunderstood, or are having difficulty managing emotions, relationships, health concerns, or major life transitions. You do not need to be in crisis to begin therapy sometimes simply having a safe person to talk to can make a meaningful difference.
